I intend to import a few cartons of table wines via airfreight for personal consumption. What is the import procedure?
The importation of intoxicating liquor and wine products is subject to payment of duty and Goods and Services Tax (GST).The duty rate would depend on the HS Code of the liquor product. Please refer here for their respective duty rates. GST is payable on the import value and duty of the wine.
Please note that the importation of wine may be regulated by the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). Therefore, you should check with SFA on their licensing requirements prior to the importation of wine.
You may engage a local forwarding agent, who is a registered TradeNet user with Singapore Customs or a TradeNet service centre, to obtain an In-Payment permit for the importation of your wine into Singapore.
A list of these companies can be obtained here.
