What are the penalties for offences under the Strategic Goods (Control) Act?

Penalties include seizure and forfeiture of goods, fines and/or imprisonment. Singapore Customs may offer to compound offences for a sum not exceeding S$10,000 per offence.
 
Please refer to the penalties below for key offences:
  • A fine not exceeding S$100,000 or three times the value of the goods or technology in respect to which the offence was committed, whichever is higher, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to both, on a first conviction; or 
  • A fine not exceeding S$200,000 or four times the value of the goods or technology in respect of which the offence was committed, whichever is higher, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both, on second or subsequent convictions.
