My entity had imported food items and rice in the same container. However, the importer is unable to apply for the necessary licence for rice. How can we clear the remaining food items?

You may unstuff the container in a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) that allows such unstuffing activities and declare the relevant import permit for clearance of the non-controlled food items. Controlled goods like rice should only be imported into Customs Territory when proper approval is obtained from the relevant Competent Authority (CA). A separate permit should subsequently be obtained to account for the importation of the controlled goods.
