Declaring Agent tried to apply for a temporary import permit but encountered a rejection message "PLS CHECK BANKER'S GUARANTEE". What does it mean?
The rejection message could be due to the following reasons:
Declaring Agent (DA) and/or importer did not lodge Banker's Guarantee (BG) with Singapore Customs;
DA and/or importer did not lodge sufficient BG;
The wrong party's security was indicated in the "BG Indicator" field in the permit application ("I" for importer/exporter's security to be used and "D" or blank for DA's security to be used).
For more information on the security amount required for permit applications, please refer to Singapore Customs website.
