How is the Trusted Contact different from a Court-appointed Deputyship?

A Deputy is an individual appointed by the court to make decisions on behalf of a person who lacks mental capacity. The type of decisions a Deputy can make are specified in the Deputyship appointment court order.
 
In contrast, a Trusted Contact is a trusted person that a CPF member can appoint, while they have mental capacity, to receive a copy of their notifications whenever important transactions occur in their CPF account. Unlike a Deputy, a Trusted Contact is not legally empowered to make decisions on the person’s behalf.
