Why can’t CareShield Life/ElderShield automatically reimburse long-term care costs the way MediShield Life does for hospital bills?
Unlike MediShield Life, which covers large hospital bills, CareShield Life/ElderShield provides monthly cash payouts to offer individuals and their caregivers greater flexibility in choosing their preferred care arrangements. This ensures that they are not restricted to specific long-term care services in order to receive support.
For example, some may prefer to stay in a familiar home environment and opt for home-based care, while others may choose to receive care from a healthcare provider such as a nursing home.
Given long-term care needs and preferences differ widely, cash payouts allow you to decide how best to use the support.
