What is MediSave Care?
MediSave Care is a long-term care scheme that allows Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 30 and above with severe disability to make monthly cash withdrawals of up to $200 from their own and/or their spouse’s MediSave for their long-term care needs. This is provided they have set aside a minimum amount to ensure sufficient MediSave for other medical expenses.
The table below shows the required MediSave balances and the corresponding monthly withdrawal quantum for eligible individuals.1
| MediSave Balance | Monthly Withdrawal Quantum |
|---|---|
| $20,000 and above | $200 |
| $15,000 and above | $150 |
| $10,000 and above | $100 |
| $5,000 and above | $50 |
| Below $5,000 | Nil |
1Eligible individuals can withdraw from their spouse's MediSave Account if their own MediSave balance is insufficient, provided the spouse has a MediSave balance of at least $5,000. Withdrawals from the spouse's MediSave are also subject to the same balance thresholds, and the total combined withdrawal from both accounts is capped at $200 per month.
