Why is my Workfare Income Supplement so low even though I am earning close to the qualifying wage cap?

Updated by CPF

The Workfare Income Supplement (WIS) benefits are designed to gradually reduce as a worker's income approaches the qualifying wage cap. The gradual reduction ensures that workers who increase their income through skills upgrades or better paying jobs do not experience a sudden drop in benefits. Taken together, as income rises, both the income and WIS benefits will increase.
