How does the Matched MediSave Scheme work?
Members’ eligibility for the Matched MediSave Scheme (MMSS) will be automatically assessed annually. No application by members is needed.
- Each year, if you are eligible, we will notify you at the beginning of the year. You can also check your eligibility via the Healthcare dashboard.
- Cash top-ups to MA can be made by yourself, loved ones, employers or members of the community.
- If you are eligible and have received cash top-ups to your MediSave Account (MA) by 31 December of the year, you will receive a matching grant at the beginning of the following year.
MMSS is implemented from January 2026. Cash top-ups made before 2026 is not eligible for matching grants under this scheme.
Individual givers will not receive tax relief for cash top-ups that attract the MMSS matching grant.
Members may continue to enjoy tax relief of up to $8,000 per year for eligible cash top-ups to their own Special Account, Retirement Account or MA, and another $8,000 per year for cash top-ups to such accounts of their loved ones, that do not attract the matching grant for MMSS or the Matched Retirement Saving Scheme (MRSS).
