Examples of pre-existing health conditions that may now be considered for coverage with premium loading include certain types of stroke and heart disorder.

A member’s eligibility for Home Protection Scheme (HPS) cover will still be assessed based on overall severity, prognosis, control of the health condition, and the member’s health risk profile.

However, members with more severe health conditions, such as those currently receiving treatment for cancer and kidney failure are not eligible for HPS coverage, even with premium loading.
