Is repayment required under the CPF Education Loan Scheme if the student passes away or is permanently incapacitated?
In the event that the student passes away or has obtained a certification from an accredited doctor* certifying that he/she is physically or mentally incapacitated from continuing in any employment, we will not recover the outstanding amount owed by the student under the CPF Education Loan Scheme.
* The list of accredited doctors are those from government restructured hospitals, polyclinics or specialists. If clarifications are needed, a detailed medical report may be required from your doctor from the accredited list. If your doctor is not from the accredited list, you would be required to obtain an independent assessment from the Board's panel of doctors.
