If you decide to reinstate your Singapore Citizenship or Permanent Residency after closing your CPF account, you are required to refund your CPF savings with accrued interest. The amount to be refunded includes:

  1. Savings transferred to your bank account upon account closure;
  2. Savings used for participation in CPF schemes (e.g. CPF Investment Scheme);
  3. Contributions that should have been paid prior to account closure (e.g. outstanding MediSave liabilities for self-employed persons);
  4. Savings used to clear past debts upon account closure (e.g. tax arrears, education loan).
