Why are some funds reserved in my CPF Ordinary Account for the Dependants' Protection Scheme premium?

To ensure that working CPF members are financially protected by the Dependants' Protection Scheme (DPS), the necessary amount will be reserved in your CPF Ordinary Account (OA) during the premium payment grace period. This means that you will not be able to use or withdraw up to that amount of OA savings during this period.

If you prefer to pay your premiums in cash, contact the DPS insurer (Great Eastern Life) to top up the full premium in cash. The reserved amount in your CPF OA will be released after your cash payment is processed.

In the event that you need to use the reserved amount for other purposes, please write to us for assistance. However, please note that your DPS cover could lapse if no payment is made within the grace period stipulated by the DPS insurer.
