Family members, as defined under the Intestacy or Inheritance law distribution rules, will be eligible to access the information.

 

a. If the deceased member is a Muslim:
The eligible family members under the Muslim Inheritance law will be based on the Certificate of Inheritance issued by the Syariah Court.

 

The eligible family members will be based on the Intestate Succession Act distribution rules, in the following order:

No children	Spouse and parent
No children No parent	Spouse
No spouse No children	Parents
No spouse No children No parents	Siblings[2]

^[1] If children have passed away, the eligible family members will be their children
(i.e. Grandchildren) instead.

^[2] If siblings have passed away, the eligible family members will be their children
(i.e. Nephews and nieces) instead.
