Why do I need witnesses when I make a CPF nomination?

Updated by CPF
Disputes on who should receive your CPF savings may sometimes arise after you have passed on. That is why you have to appoint two witnesses who can attest that you have made your nomination willingly and calmly. Your witnesses cannot be your nominee or an organisation.

Witnesses do not need to know your nominee(s)’ details to perform their roles as witnesses. Where necessary, your witnesses can help us understand how the nomination was made so that we can distribute your CPF savings according to your wishes.
