Pioneer and Merdeka Generation members do not automatically qualify for the Silver Support (SS) Scheme.

 

The SS Scheme is targeted at seniors who had low incomes during their working years and now have little or no family support and resources in their retirement.

 

The Pioneer Generation (PG) and Merdeka Generation (MG) Packages are one-off schemes to honour PG and MG seniors for their contributions in the early years of Singapore's nation-building.

 

PG and MG members will be means-tested for SS like all other seniors aged 65 and above, and those who meet the eligibility criteria will receive SS.
