Do top-up monies form part of the required $40,000 that needs to be set aside before I can invest my Special Account monies?
Top-up monies form part of the $40,000 that needs to be set aside in the Special Account (SA) before you can use the excess for your investment. However, top-up monies cannot be used for investment. For example, if you have $100,000 in your SA, of which $90,000 are top up monies you received in your SA, only monies in excess of the $90,000 (i.e. $10,000) can be invested. Please refer to this FAQ for further information on usage of top-up monies.
