Why is there no tax relief for top-ups to the MediSave Account made to my children or non-immediate family?
Tax relief is an incentive given to encourage members to build up their healthcare savings for themselves or their immediate family members, particularly older Singaporeans who may have less healthcare savings.
However, your children have longer remaining working lifespans and would have more time to build up their healthcare savings for their own healthcare needs. Hence, there is no tax relief for top-ups made to your children or non-immediate family members.
