Do I need to register myself as a self-employed person?

You do not need to register your self-employed status with CPF Board.
 
You will be considered a self-employed person if you:
 
  1. Declare your net trade income to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS);
  2. Declare your net trade income to CPF Board*; or
  3. Make MediSave contributions under Contribute As You Earn (CAYE) Scheme.
*for Work Year 2022 (WY2022) and earlier
