It is designed to give email domain owners like CPF Board the ability to protect their domain (e.g., “cpf.gov.sg”) from unauthorised use by email scammers.
As the Board uses DMARC together with other email security measures, recipients’ email service providers which have security measures in place, are able to verify that emails are from a legitimate sender (CPF Board) and we are able to tell such service providers how to handle emails that do not pass verification checks, e.g., reject or quarantine the email.
