CAAS worked with agencies to identify a suitable site based on a set of criteria. These include:
Located outside of no-fly zones (beyond 5km of Changi Airport and military airbases);
Open area of at least 1 ha in size, ideally 3-4 ha;
Available for at least 1.5 years, and ideally for 3 years and more;
Ideally, parking is available/ parking provisions can be created nearby;
Ideally, public amenities are available nearby (e.g., bathrooms, water points).
