Who is eligible to register an aircraft in Singapore and what are the procedures and documents required for the registration process?

An applicant registering an aircraft in Singapore must satisfy the eligibility criteria stated in the Air Navigation Order (ANO) paragraph 4, which states that:

1) Any previous registration of the aircraft outside Singapore shall cease upon the aircraft being registered in Singapore.

2) The owner of the aircraft belongs to one of the following categories:

  • a. the Singapore Government;

  • b. citizens of Singapore;

  • c. citizens of any Commonwealth country; and

  • d. bodies incorporated in Singapore or in some part of the Commonwealth and having their principal place of business in some part of the Commonwealth.

The cost to register an aircraft can be found in the ANO 12th Schedule paragraph 1, which states the registration fee to be $55 for aircraft with maximum total weight not exceeding 3,000 kg. For aircraft exceeding 3,000 kg, a flat fee of $55 plus $6.60 per 1,000 kg or part thereoff in excess of 3,000 kg applies.

Applications shall be made on Form CAAS(AW) 39 accompanied by particulars and evidence relating to the aircraft and its ownership and submitted to:
