What are the school’s signature programmes?
Since 2000, ANDSS has been recognised as a Centre of Excellence for Science Research, and we host the Elementz Science Project competition for many North Zone schools and beyond, annually. Our students benefit from hands-on engagement with science research, and exposure to potential pathways related to Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) in tertiary as well as industry settings. Core to our programme are the following:
Science Research Programme (SRP): a structured pathway from Sec 1 to upper secondary, including foundation courses, collaborative projects conducted during curriculum time, and mentorship.
STEM-focused Programme: students engage in experiments, problem-solving, and hands-on projects like robotics and coding to develop creativity, innovation, and future-ready skills. They have the opportunity to visit sites such as research labs and museums, and also hear from alumni and experts in the field, such as NASA research scientists.
We are one of four schools in Singapore offering the Elective Programme for Malay Language in Secondary School (EMAS), which gives students the opportunity to engage in a deeper study of Malay language, literature, and culture through workshops, camps, symposiums, and immersion activities.
