How does the school provide opportunities for students to grow as leaders?
Leadership development is an integral part of the Anderson student experience, and students have many opportunities during their four or five years with us to make a difference for the greater good as leaders. Every year, our Sec 3 student leaders are given the opportunity to participate in an overseas trip to hone their leadership competencies.
The leadership opportunities available in ANDSS are as follows:
Anderson Student Council: leading school-wide events and representing student voice.
Other leadership roles: CCA leaders, Heritage & Citizenship Education ambassadors, Class Committees, Peer Support Leaders, Digital Literacy Ambassadors, and Health Leaders.
Student Leaders’ Congress: platforms where students propose ideas and engage school leaders on changes to benefit their peers.
VIA (Values-in-Action): student-designed projects that meet community needs.
