Can I find out more about Day Care service?
Day Care provides a full day programme for seniors who are suitable for centre-based care setting, and require supervision while their caregivers are at work.
The service aims to maintain and/or improve the general, physical and social well-being of seniors through therapy. The centre also doubles as a place for seniors to socialise and take part in recreational activities.
Some day care centres also cater to specific needs:
1.Dementia Day Care provides full day custodial care in a centre-based setting for seniors with dementia. Meaningful recreational activities (e.g. therapeutic, social and recreational) are used to engage seniors with dementia.
2.Day Hospice Care provides a safe and supportive environment for care recipients. Daily activities and therapeutic programmes are organised to enhance quality of life.
3.Respite Care: Caregivers can also tap on Senior Care Centres for short-term care options, such as when they need to take short breaks on an ad hoc basis during the day. This is also suitable if caregivers need additional assistance when the Migrant domestic worker is not available. Care staff at the centre will provide assitance with your loved one's daily care activities such as eating or going to the toilet. Meals are provided for your loved one, and your loved one can take part in social activities such as games and karaoke sessions. Respite care is available on both weekdays and weekends.
