What are the causes

Most researchers believe that both biology and the environment play a role in schizophrenia.

Biological: Brain chemical imbalances may contribute to schizophrenia. In addition, a person may be more likely to develop schizophrenia if someone in the family has it too.

Environmental: Certain experiences in life, and stress, can trigger the condition, such as stress due to work- or school-related matters
