With the removal of Mid-Year Examinations (MYE) for all secondary school levels, would there still be mid-year inserts for offering subjects at a more demanding level in S1?
With the removal of Mid-Year Examinations, schools could decide on S1 Mid-Year inserts based on results from Weighted Assessments in Semester 1 as well as the teachers' professional judgement of the students' ability to manage the subject at a more demanding level. However, this would be applied only to English Language, Mother Tongue Languages, Mathematics and Science, and not for Humanities subjects.
