Why did the Council reduce monthly concession pass prices while increasing per-journey fares?
The increase in per-journey fares will affect heavy users of public transport the most. PTC recognises that heavy users among the concession groups, in particular, may need more support to manage the increase in their public transport spending. Therefore, PTC decided to reduce hybrid monthly concession pass prices by up to 10%, so that a larger proportion of heavy users among concessions group can benefit from the passes.
