What is the eligibility criteria for EEG (Base)?2

A company that meets all the following criteria can apply for the EEG (Base):

  • Business entity registered and operating in Singapore in the following sectors:
    • Construction companies classified under SSIC 41 to 43
    • Manufacturing companies that are classified under SSIC 10 to 32 (including Food Manufacturing)
    • Maritime companies which include:
      • Harbourcraft companies owning/operating harbourcraft licensed by MPA
      • Port companies classified under SSIC 23940, 24109, 49231, 50021, 50023, 52101, 52221, 52222, 52224, 52243, 52292
    • Retail companies classified under SSIC 47

Business entities using commercial data centres in Singapore who meet the Data Centre Sector eligibility requirements can tap on pre-approved energy efficient equipment for the data centre sector regardless of industry.

  • Minimum of 30% local shareholding3
  • Employs at least one local employee at the firm-level4
  • Group Annual Sales Turnover no more than S$500 million5

The following entities do not qualify for grant support:

  • Charities
  • Institutions of Public Characters (IPCs)
  • Religious entities
  • Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs)
  • Government agencies and subsidiaries
  • Co-operative societies and societies

2 Companies may be requested to furnish supporting documents as part of the grant application process.

3 For maritime companies and users of data centres, business entities need not have a minimum of 30% local shareholding criteria.

4 Maritime companies should employ at least one local employee at the group-level.

5 SME is defined as having:

  • Group Annual Sales Turnover of not more than S$100 million; or
  • Group Employment Size of not more than 200 workers
